SUMMER

Things to Do

Planning Your Summer Getaway

There’s a reason summer is our busiest season here at Lochsa Lodge. Long, warm days filled with adventure lead into evenings by the campfire, where guests swap stories and plan the next day’s excitement.

Lochsa Lodge is the perfect place to “park it” for a short or extended amount of time!

The rivers and forests of the region offer endless opportunities for recreation and a peaceful escape from the city’s hustle and bustle. Whether you’re seeking a quiet moment in nature or a heart-pounding adventure, there’s something for everyone.

By summer, higher-elevation areas bask in temperatures in the 80s or low 90s. It can get warmer at lower elevations, but a quick dip in the river is the perfect way to cool off! The Lochsa River offers recreation for all, from swimming and fishing to whitewater rafting or simply relaxing on the riverbank with a good book. A summer getaway at the Lochsa is the ideal way to connect with nature and find something fun for the whole family.

KNow before you go

Late summer into early fall is wildfire season in the wilderness. While wildfires are a natural part of summer in the west, they can sometimes impact travel plans and air quality. We recommend checking fire maps and air quality when planning your trip and limiting strenuous outdoor activities on days when air quality reaches unhealthy levels.
